The other day, I attended the “Birthday Celebration Party for His Majesty King Charles III,” hosted by The Japan-British Society of the Kansai.
The venue this time was The Landmark Square Osaka, located right in front of Osaka Castle.

The building, a historic Western-style structure renovated from the former Fourth Division Headquarters, had a dignified atmosphere, and the view of Osaka Castle from the windows was truly impressive.
It was a wonderful occasion where I could enjoy a slightly special and extraordinary atmosphere, quite different from everyday life, along with a lovely meal and performances of shakuhachi and koto. The event really gave a strong sense of cultural exchange between Japan and the United Kingdom.

This was my first time attending, and I was fortunate to meet many new people. It gave me a renewed appreciation for the connection with the UK. Sharing the same space with people who have ties to Britain and those interested in promoting friendship between Japan and the UK was a truly valuable experience.
Through the atmosphere of the venue, the historic building, the beautiful view of Osaka Castle, and the conversations with everyone who attended, I was able to spend a special time away from everyday life.

I am grateful for having had this opportunity, and I hope to continue cherishing the ties between Japan and the United Kingdom.
